CITIZEN OF THE YEAR

Since 1991, the Maple Ridge Community Foundation has celebrated the outstanding individuals who make our city stronger, kinder, and more connected. The Citizen of the Year Awards recognize local heroes whose volunteer efforts—whether through leadership, advocacy, mentorship, or quiet acts of generosity—uplift the lives of others and enhance the spirit and image of Maple Ridge.

Originally awarded to one exceptional volunteer each year, the program expanded in 2018 to honour three remarkable individuals annually. These awards highlight a wide range of community contributions across arts, culture, athletics, social services, and beyond.

Award categories include:
Youth (18 and under)
Teesha Sharma Memorial Award (Under 40)
