what is community chest?
The Maple Ridge Community Chest provides immediate, direct financial support to families and individuals in crisis. This one-time assistance helps them overcome setbacks that could otherwise lead to insurmountable challenges, preventing further descent into poverty. A collaborative initiative between the Maple Ridge Community Foundation and Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Community Services (MRPMCS), the Community Chest addresses critical needs such as preventing homelessness and evictions, addressing health needs, responding to mental health and crisis situations, preventing unemployment, and ensuring household safety and stability.
The Community Chest is a neighbours-helping-neighbours campaign, where your donations directly support those in need within our community.
how can i apply?
Before applying, ensure that you have exhausted all other available resources. Next, fill out the Application Form and seek support or sponsorship from a referring agency such as Fraser Health, SD42, Maple Ridge Mental Health, Salvation Army, Family Education, etc. Once completed, email your application to krogge@mrpmcs.ca and tcamire@mrpmcs.ca.
Please note that applications typically take 48-72 hours to be reviewed. Funds are administered by MRPMCS to the referring agency, not directly to the applicant.
