what is community chest?
The Maple Ridge Community Chest provides immediate, direct financial support to families and individuals in crisis. This one-time assistance helps them overcome setbacks that could otherwise lead to insurmountable challenges, preventing further descent into poverty. A collaborative initiative between the Maple Ridge Community Foundation and Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Community Services (MRPMCS), the Community Chest addresses urgent needs by supporting health-related expenses, responding to mental health and crisis situations, helping individuals stay employed, and ensuring household safety and stability.
The Community Chest is a neighbours-helping-neighbours campaign, where your donations directly support those in need within our community.
how can i apply?
Before applying, ensure that you have exhausted all other available resources. Next, fill out the Application Form and seek support or sponsorship from a referring agency such as Fraser Health, SD42, Maple Ridge Mental Health, Salvation Army, Family Education, etc. Once completed, email your application to krogge@mrpmcs.ca and tcamire@mrpmcs.ca.
Please note that applications typically take 48-72 hours to be reviewed. Funds are administered by MRPMCS to the referring agency, not directly to the applicant.
