The CEED Centre Society was recently awarded its fourth grant from the Maple Ridge Community Foundation. The MRCF granted $1,000 to their Seniors Stay Active Program, which represents both the Seniors Activity Group and the Seniors Inclusion Program. This year’s grant is specifically being used for programs catering to seniors with dementia, and their caregivers, to help keep seniors engaged in their community.

The CEED Centre offers programs, workshops and events related to community development and food security. For families that deal with dementia and youth who are struggling with anxiety, the Centre is a safe place to have fun, socialize and go on local field trips in the Lower Mainland. Some field trips involve going to Granville Island, the Vancouver Aquarium and Burnaby Village Museum. The Maple Ridge Community Foundation’s grant will help cover the costs of these outings.

The CEED Centre Society welcomes all and allows anyone to go on the outings with members from the Centre, in all programs. The Maple Ridge Community Foundation is proud to have supported The CEED Centre in the past with their community gardens project, youth support groups, and fixtures for their meeting space.
